Version 1.8.0

CPC 1.8.0 is a major release including the following new features:

• Generation Tools:
• Integration of PLC suppliers project actions (e.g. import/compile) from UAB
• S7 Project Generator for Siemens
• Unity Project Generator for Schneider
• Not Implemented for CoDeSyS
• AI/AIR/AS/MFC : can include 1st-order filter time constant on the HFPos
• Digital Alarm : can include simplified PLC logic in Input column
• Analog Alarm : can include simplified PLC logic in Input column, and HH/LL Alarm, and H/L Warning columns
• Analog Alarm : new "Enable Condition" column to allow user to specify logic for Enable pin (same logic for all thresholds)
• Upgrade will now work on *massive* specs (>10Mb)
• NOTE: upgrade only works correctly on Windows 64-bit architecture.


• Control:
• New Siemens S7 PLC Baseline 6.7 ( change list ):
  • Fix bug in PID setpoint ramp
  • Implemented IO error detection for external (non-Siemens) profibus slave.
  • Integrate new Encoder and SteppingMotor objects for motion-based applications
  • Allow access to PID Feed-Forward input
• New Schneider Unity PLC Baseline 6.8 ( change list ):
  • Fix bug in PID setpoint ramp
  • Fix bug in CPC_Comm_DS_Events "Changes" section
  • Fix bug in Field Objects with blocking FullNotAcknowledged (happens extremely rarely)
  • Allow access to PID Feed-Forward input


• Supervision & operation::
  
  • New WinCC OA CPC Package 6.3.5 ( see change list and release notes on EDMS ) :
  • This is a minor release, compatible with WinCC OA 3.11 SP1 only. Highlights:
  • Controller object, has new tab for PID auto-tuning
  • ProcessControlObject object: new confirmation for stop action and disable auto mode for top PCOs requested by operation teams
  • Support of the OPCUA front-end
  • SOFT_FE improvements to fix DigitalParameter and add new library to help development
  • Number of improvements in UI, including comment tab on each faceplate, AnalogAlarm faceplate improvements, and allow-to-restart action (always enabled and now in right-click menu)
  • Improved MailSMS notifications for mass configuration and for AnalogAlarm
  • For CERN Control Room operators: we now support 2 and 3 screen unicos HMI
  
  
  • UNICOS Framework 6.3.3 (see release notes and EDMS link)
  Highlights for CPC users:
  • "Online" importation (no need to stop distribution manager or driver or disable front-end)
  • General tools for comments. Find it under Management>Utilities(local)>Device Comments
  • Smooth installation of most of UNICOS component (excluding LASER) with minimal impact on the system (i.e. ctrl/ui/dist managers does not restart)

• Known Compatibility Issues:
  
  • WinCC OA importation file (db) generated with the new CPC Resource Package 1.8.0 cannot be imported into WinCC OA projects with the previous WinCC OA UCPC version 6.3.4

Please use version 1.8.0 in all your new projects. And upgrade your old projects to version 1.8.0 if possible/appropriate.

=== Upgrade procedure ===
In order to upgrade a SIEMENS PLC:

• Before the upgrade:
• Make a backup of your UAB project (or make sure all files are committed to SVN)
• Do the UAB resource-package upgrade
• Regenerate files you want to change in PLC and all symbols
• In case you have made user code in Step7, export and save the sources with your user SCL code
• Re-import in your PLC application the generated source files and all symbols
• Re-import the new PLC baseline
• Re compile Baseline and new files
• In case you had made user code in Step7, reuse your user SCL code previously saved
